||||
Life Long Learning (3L) Program has been initiated by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) to assist all the stakeholders, providing energy efficiency services in India as per EC Act. 3L workshops are aimed at organizing highly specialised workshops on selected specific energy efficiency topics, and bring awareness about latest technologies being used in the world. This is a Institutional arrangement for learning for energy manager and energy auditors, energy audit firm, energy efficient equipment manufacturers, suppliers, energy audit tools/ equipments suppliers, energy management monitoring related software and their suppliers and all the stake holders as per Energy Conservation Act. Clause (f) of sub section 2 of Section 13 of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 provides that the Bureau shall arrange and organize training of personnel and specialists in the techniques for efficient use of energy and its conservation. Further clause (g) of the said section provides that the Bureau shall strengthen consultancy services in the field of Energy conservation. As a result of the initiative taken by the Bureau a regular stream of Energy Mangers and Energy Auditors is becoming available in the country through National Examination for Certification of Energy Managers and Energy Auditors. More than 8000 Energy Managers and Energy Auditors have been certified so far on the basis of examinations conducted so far. On an average certification of about 1000 energy professional per annum could be anticipated for the next 5 to 10 years. These professionals need to be given adequate professional training on Energy Conservation and efficient use of energy to make them useful instruments for value addition to the country. Further, there are other interested stakeholders from the public and private sectors who could be willing to participate in such professional training depending upon the nature of training, content of course material, contribution of such training in the performance of their duties and responsibilities in their work places. |
